The footprint for this residence is a simple square juxtaposed with a 2 storey rectangle. The design plays with the relationship between these two 3D forms, and how the use of different 2D textures or skins can fleece perception.
The residence was planned with no passageways to maximise floor space on its small rear Strata block location. The void over the living area created a vertical volume of natural light, and allowed first floor views to the ocean whilst blocking overlooking into the adjoining neighbours.
This 3/2 home sold at a record price for a rear Strata in the suburb (40% higher than any previous sale).
